Sep 8, 2013 No Comments ›› phil IMG_4665Upon entering the race for Alabama's 4th Congressional District in the 2014 Election, I have been asked many times what I am running for or running against.  The most simple answer that I can give is that I am running against the "Status Quo" in Washington or the "Business as Usual" attitude among our members of Congress in both Houses. We simply can't continue to run our fiscal house in a "tax and spend" manner in Washington and expect this great nation to continue its long history of prosperity and growth. Someone has to go to Washington with a new paradigm that isn't shaded by the desire to continue to stay in office in Washington. I don't believe that our founding Fathers ever imagined that there would be "Career Politicians" in Washington, at least to the extent that we have in Congress today. If elected to Congress, my goal will be to act to change the climate in Congress with a focus on shrinking the federal government's burden on the American People and to create environments where our American Business Community will be able to flourish and revitalize our American Economy.
